The goal of Learning Life Skills department is to enable our students to become independent and successful. We strive to help our students develop into responsible individuals by teaching them positive character traits, career development, leadership and life skills to help them reach their full potential. All students are integrated into a variety of Life Skill classes. A strong emphasis is put on integration into mainstream classes and workplace training.
What is the Learning and Life Skills Program? It is an intensive specialized program, provided by Special Education Teachers qualified in teaching students with a developmental disability. The program’s focus is individualized academic programming based on each students’ Individual Education Plan. There is a strong emphasis on independent living and workplace training. Our department works closely with community agencies and supports such as: Community Living, Passport Mentoring and Five Counties Services.
